1,177,476. TiO2 Dispersion. FABRIQUES DE PRODUITS CHIMIQUES DE THANN ET DE MULHOUSE. 13 Feb., 1968 [17 Feb., 1967], No. 6944/68. Heading C1N. An aqueous dispersion of TiO2 is formed using an alkali metal salt and an organic amine as dispersing agents and is then centrifuged. The salt may be Na hexametaphosphate or tripolyphosphate. The amine may be triethanolamine or monoethanolamine or mixtures thereof. The amounts used may be 0À05-3% of the salt and 0À05-2% of the amine, on the wt. of TiO2. The centrifuged TiO2 may be treated with Al2(SO4)3, neutralized, washed, dried, and ground. The TiO2 may be obtained by hydrolysis of Ti sulphate followed by calcination at 750-1100‹ C. or by vapour phase oxidation of Ti tetrahalide, and may contain ZnO or Al2O3.
|
