1277095 Road traffic signals OMRON TATEISI ELECTRONICS CO 11 June 1969 [20 June 1968] 29668/69 Heading G4Q In a system for controlling a plurality of local controllers, each local controller includes a radio receiver whereby the local controllers are synchronized with one another and generate desired traffic pattern instruction signals in response to standard frequency and time signals broadcast by, e.g., station MSF at Rugby. The system obviates the conventional master controller and the cables connecting this controller with the local controllers. In more detail, each local controller includes offset and split circuits and a time discriminator circuit coupled to its radio receiver, this discriminator circuit generating timing signals. A programmer responsive to the timing signals generates the traffic pattern instruction signals corresponding to the time of day, these latter signals together with the generated timing signals being applied to control means for controlling the operation of the split and offset circuits. One embodiment of the system utilizing counters is described with reference to a drawing accompanying the Specification. |
