[Also in Divisions A4, B8 and F4] A mobile crop drier comprises a frame 1 supported by ground wheels 2, crop picking-up drum 23 and a drying system comprising a burner 43 and a fuel tank 27 therefor, the tank 27 being at a height above the ground corresponding to the height of the axis of wheels 2. The drier comprises a drying space in which are mounted conveyers 48 and 49, each conveyer 49 consisting of two chains between which extend perforated angle sections. The hot air is distributed through the drying space by fans 31 and 40. The outlets 36 of the fan casings 30 are covered by pivotable screens 37. The rear wall of the drying space comprises pivotable flaps or gratings (not shown), so that the crop can be discharged from the drier via the rear wall. The device comprises a chopper 17 and may include crushing rollers (not shown) in the drying space. A reciprocating tined feeding mechanism (Fig. 7, not shown) for feeding crop to the drying space may be mounted in the channel 14. |
