Method is described of making a sandwich or similar food prod. in which an edible filling is inserted in an outer covering of bread or other prod. The filling is now a frozen food prod. which is preformed in a shape to suit the outer covering and then frozen. After the frozen filling has been inserted in the covering the sandwich is heated, pref. by micro-wave and/or infra-red radiation, to make it ready for eating. - A cruciform cutter is used to bore a cylindrical cavity in a stick loaf to accept a frozen cylinder of filling.
