PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lowly suppress the weight ratio of a treating soln. to alloy powder after the discharge of the treating soln. and to eliminate the bad influence of impurities in the treating soln. and the reactants between the treating soln. and a washing soln. to be given to the characteristics of a battery by subjecting the treating soln. to filtering under pressure using a pressure filter and using spheroidal gas atomizing power as hydrogen storage alloy powder. SOLUTION: Spheroidal misch metal-nickel series hydrogen storage alloy atomizing powder is subjected to surface treatment using acid, after that, the treating soln. is filtered under pressure by a pressure filter, and the alloy powder is washed by a washing soln. As for the spheroidal gas atomizing power, since the power lies in a state of point contact with each other, the filtering of the treating soln. can satisfactorily be executed. The discharge of the treating soln. after the surface treatment is executed preferably under >=0.5 atmospheric pressure. In this way, the weight ratio of the remaining soln. to the alloy powder can be suppressed to <=8%, and the impurities in the treating soln. and the reactants between the treating soln. and the washing soln. are reduced to improve the capacity of a battery and the degree of activation. |
