Prepn of reactive dyes for natural and synthetic fibres

Dyes not containing water-solubilising groups, heavy metals or groups forming complexes and containing at least one acyl group Z of a C3 carboxylic acid connected to an amino group and groups capable of reaction with fibres. (where X = H, Y = Cl or Br or together they form a bond). More specifically the dyes may be of the (i) azo type (I) (where A = arylene, R1, R2 = alkyl, and D is the residue of a diazotisable cpd.) (ii) styryl type (II) (where Y = CN, CONH2, carboxyalkyl or phenylsulphonyl) (iii) anthraquinone type (where A = anthraquinone and n = 1-2) (iv) perinone, (v) quinophthalone, (vi) acridone and (vii) nitro. Dyes may be prepared by standard methods.
