Press roller in three parts adjusts to section of the tube being coiled and is urged by springs against the tube where the strips are to be joined. The withdrawl rollers are spaced round the frame and can be adjusted in terms of axle slant to suit the pitch of the tube being coiled. The loop of material between extruder and coiling drum is photoelectrically scanned and used to adjust the rollers.
