摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set a code length longer to enhance an error correction capability by processing error correction and reproducing by means of calculaling an arithmetic operation of a user data code and an error correcting code on 9th power of 2 in Galois field and reproducing. SOLUTION: User data D1 inputted from an external equipment like a computer, etc., are held once by a buffer 7, and after an addition of a predetermined dummy data thereto, they are converted into parallel data and the user data and error correction codes are expressed on 9th power of 2 in Galois field. Thus, it is possible to increase a code length, an error correcting capability, and decrease an error rate. Such data form 1 ECC block, being interleaved, and being converted into serial data column. From this serial data column, a modulation signal SM is generated, and light quantity of a laser beam is raised according to the signal, and a bit column in accordance with the serial data column is formed on an information recording surface of an optical disk 3.
