<p>Extraction capacity of 2.40 to 4.337 1/hr./1 appts. vol. is achieved in countercurrent gravity sepn. of two immiscible liqs. of different densities in appts. of simple components, partic. for highly corrosive, unstable, or explosive substances. Appts. has 3 horizontally staggered modules, each with separate intensive mixer using the difformation method, and of specific parameters, connected to vertical septg. vessel side inlet. Heavier component (gn) is fed into first stage mixer, which receives lighter component (gk) from the second stage septg. vessel through connection in its vertical vent. gn sepd. in first stage vessel is received by second stage mixer, which is supplied with gk from third stage vessel, etc. Light product gk is drawn off from top side outlet of first stage vessel, heavy product gn from last stage vessel bottom outlet via an upward syphon. Lamina flow obtains throughout. Based on laminated flow equation last stage inlet level from mixer to sepg. vessel is determined, and using this value, all other inlet/outlet levels are calculated by equations w.r.t. respective feed densities. Power rating is, e.g. 0.5 kW per mixer for a three stage appts. of 83 1 total vol. Appts. may carry heating/cooling jacket, due to its compactness.</p> |
