PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set the waiting time of a passenger to an adequate one and minimize energy consumption by estimating the up/down traffic demand quantities at each floor, and controlling the operation of an elevator car with a computer. SOLUTION: A sensor 14 receiving the request from a passenger at each floor registers an up or down direction. A call detector 16 is installed in each car, and a passenger requests a destination floor via a button. A load weight sensing means 18 senses the weight in the car and estimates the number of passengers. A means 20 estimating the traffic demand quantities in the up and down directions at each floor is installed at each floor, and it estimates the number of passengers waiting for the elevator car. An allocation control computer 28 determines and instructs the operation plan in each shaft based on the information, and a car control computer 24 receives the instruction of the computer 28 and implements the operation of the car. A collision preventing computer 26 determines advance directions and operating speeds so that no collision occurs in each shaft. |
