Ion exchange resin regeneration - by passing hot water through specified resin into flushing water tank

A system for the regeneration of spent ion exchanger resin, used in water softeners and filters, is based on the use of a resin which can be regenerated by hot water at 95 degrees C. An immersion heater in a heat exchanger heats the clean water stored in a small storage tank. A tank contg. the hot flushing water with the dissolved salts is included in a heat exchanger circuit to utilise the waste heat before the water is discharged to the drains. This saves all chemical agents for the regeneration and saves power. The system causes less pollution to the environment.
