A large organ which would require assistants to operate some of the controls has an electronic control system. The notes to be played from the keyboard correspond to binary states which can be stored by electronic components or in a microprocessor memory. The clock speed is controlled to regulate the speed of playing. The stops (5-8) for an organ are assembled on a panel and each operates an electrical contact connected to an interface circuit (27). Sets of buttons (12, 13) allow combinations of notes to be memorised in conjunction with a recording control (26). A processor (25) tests the conditions of the recording control and the inputs via the interface. This information is stored in a volatile memory (28) and is accessed under control from instruction in a non-volatile memory (29). An output interface (30) provides control signals to the pipes and also provides luminous indications of organ state.
|
