PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas generator in the form of a long stretching cylinder for use in an air bag for assistant's seat or against lateral collision, which is to be embodied in a small-size, lightweight construction easily at a low cost. SOLUTION: A gas passing space G is partitioned in a housing 1 and in a position closest thereto an inner cylinder 8 is installed. Thereby the inner cylinder 8 can be given as large a diameter as near the inside diameter of the housing 1 even if it 1 is formed with a small diameter, so that the formation of the inner cylinder 8 is facilitated and the gas generator can be embodied in a small-size, lightweight construction at a low cost. The gas pressure is uniformalized by the gas passing space G, and therefore, gas release can be made uniformly from a gas release hole 5a provided in an outer cylinder 5. |
