PURPOSE:To enable safe thermometry and measurement of an air temp., water temp., etc. as well by measuring and displaying temp. out of an ordinary range for body temp. as well while the thermometer is a clinical thermometer and displaying preliminarily the approximate temp. CONSTITUTION:Bias current 3 is supplied to a temp. sensor 1 using a thermistor, and a change in impedance is taken out as a temp. signal 4 which is inputted to a buffer amplifier 5. The reference voltage 12 of a reference power source 2 and the final temp. signal 10 of a variable gain amplifier 6 are compared and an A/D converter 11 is outputted as digital temp. data 13 to decoders 14, 15. The decoder 15 is selected and the display of the digit below the decimal point of a temp. value on a display device 16 is prohibited when the temp is out of a measuring temp. range for the body temp. On the other hand, when the sensor 1 is in the measuring temp. range for the body temp., the decoder 14 is selected and a segment driver 20 is changed over to display the 1st place below the decimal point of the temp. value on the display device 16. |
