PURPOSE:To enable printing at a desired density only by adding a simple density control circuit by changing the application time of current to a heat generating element depending on the presence of printing action immediately before to eliminate the need for adding a special circuit. CONSTITUTION:When a printing data DN is inputted, a register file 1 transfers the preceding data DN-1 from the file 1-1 to the file 1-2. Consequently, it is turned to a data E via an AND circuit 2 and an energization printing of the period T1 term is performed by a 1 level TS signal with the N side input terminal of a multiplexer 3 selected. At the period T2 term of the subsequent 0 level TS signal, the M side input terminal of the multiplexer 3 is selected to apply power to a heat generating element 5 at the T2 period of the TS signal. |
