The invention relates to an appliance for the manual grinding of saw teeth, especially of circular-saw teeth for the sawing of wood, this appliance being based on the principle of reproduction by copying with a template, the profile of which corresponds to the final shape of the tooth after it has been sharpened. This appliance is characterised in that the grinding wheel is carried by a stage 42 adjustable angularly in relation to an arm 3-31, itself movable in two orthogonal planes, namely horizontal and vertical, this arm being equipped with a feeler interacting with a guide template 18 fastened to the frame 1, the contour of this template corresponding to the ideal profile of a tooth after grinding, the grinding wheel thus following by copying the movement imparted to it as a result of the displacement of the feeler on the guide template 18.
