PURPOSE:To reduce the fault recovery time of a direct access device by comparing the contents of a fault address information file and an index file, and transferring and recovering only a data related to a fault, when the data is recovered after the fault is generated in the medium system of the direct access device. CONSTITUTION:An FD/DK recovery processing part 70 reads in a fault address information file 30 in a DK, and stores an address necessary to be recovered, and checks the necessity of a recovery process by a recovery data 51 written in a set recovering FD40 based on whether a fault address that a DK address represented by an index file 50 stores is included or not. When the fault address is included, and the recovery is required, the recovery processing part 70 reads the recovery data 51 according to the content of the index file, and writes it on the DK. When a write operation is performed normally, a recovered address on the fault address information file 30 is erased. In this way, the transfer of unnecessary data is omitted, and the recovery only for a required part can be executed. |
