PURPOSE:To simplify and miniaturize constitution and to rapidly perform highly accurate measurement, by a method wherein a spot deposition station and a slide holding means are provided on the extending line of an incubator chamber and the reflection optical density of a slide coloration layer is measured by a freely movable optical reading head. CONSTITUTION:A stocker 30 is provided on the extension of the row of the slides 5 arranged in an incubator chamber 10 along with a spot deposition station 20 and the slides 5 held in the stocker 30 are successively inserted in the station 20 one at a time by an insert lever 40. The slide 5 on which a specimen solution is deposited in a spot form by a spot deposition device 21 is successively fed in the chamber 10 to be arranged in one row. The reflection optical density of the coloration layer of each of the slides 5 is read by the optical reading head 50 freely movable in the slide row direction by a head feed mechanism 60 and connected to an irradiation light generating means 70 by an optical fiber cable 76 and the information necessary for colorimetric analysis is measured. By this simple and small constitution having only one optical reading head, analytical information is measured rapidly with high accuracy.
