PURPOSE:To enable inductance to be changed without using any mechanical mechanism by winding a coil around a core consisting of a superconductor. CONSTITUTION:Since magnetic flux enters a core 1 if a coil current I increases and magnetic field generated by a coil 2 exceeds the critical magnetic field of the core 1, inductance viewed from feaders 3, 3 rapidly increases. Thus, when the core 1 shifts from superconducting state to non-superconducting state, inductance rapidly changes and inductance can be changed by adjusting coil current only. Therefore, increment/decrement of coil current allows inductance to be turned on/off, thus eliminating the need for mechanical mechanism. |
