PURPOSE:To enable rear wheel steering to be surely controlled even in detecting abrupt increase of vehicle speed in which wheel spin or the like cannot be actually caused by controlling the steering of rear wheel on the base of a pseudo vehicle speed signal when the abrupt increase of vehicle speed judgement is detected. CONSTITUTION:In a control unit comprising a controlling means 70 for controlling a rear wheel controlling means 22 by inputting detecting signals of vehicle speed and front wheel steering angle or the like, are provided an abrupt vehicle speed increase detecting means 88 and pseudovehicle speed signal generating means 90. Said means 88 is provided for detecting the predetermined abrupt increase of vehicle speed detected by a vehicle speed detecting means 26, for example the abrupt increase of vehicle speed which is not actually caused like that detected in wheel spin. When such predetermined abrupt increase of vehicle speed is detected, a pseudovehicle speed signal generating means 90 generates a pseudovehicle speed signal more approximate to the actual vehicle speed than the detected vehicle speed to control the rear wheel steering by said controlling means 70 on the basis of the pseudovehicle speed signal. |
