In imaging medical ultrasonic diagnostics, so-called transmission cameras are also known besides the B scanners which use the pulse echo method (pulse reflection method), in the case of which transmission cameras one object plane of the body part under examination is acoustically imaged on an ultrasonic receiver matrix (30). According to the invention, an ultrasonic imaging device (2) is proposed which unites the two system concepts and is provided both with a transmitting and receiving system (6) for a linear ultrasonic transducer array (4) and with a receiving system (24) for an ultrasonic receiver matrix (30) as well as with an interface (16) for matching the output format of the digitised image data of the receiving system (24) of the ultrasonic receiver matrix (30) to the output format of the transmitting and receiving system (6) of the linear ultrasonic transducer array (4). <IMAGE>
