PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming material which more reliably improves the stain of the surface of an image at the time of forming the image, attains further increased resolution and reduces unevenness in the density of a silver image which appears when a silver salt film is developed after exposure through the formed image as a transmitting original as an image forming material giving a high density and high resolution image by exposure with light having high density energy. SOLUTION: This image forming material that forms an image by causing ablation has a colorant layer contg. a colorant, a curing agent and a resin binder or further contg. additives on the substrate and a protective layer on the colorant layer. When the number of functional groups in the resin binder and the additives capable of reacting with the curing agent is represented by A and the number of functional groups in the curing agent capable of reacting with the functional groups is represented by B, the ratio of B to A is 0.5-2.5. |
