SUPPORT MECHANISM FOR SUPPORTING SURGICAL INSTRUMENT

PURPOSE: To enable a surgeon to support a surgical instrument such as an abdominal lift on an operating table by providing an arm assembly extending from a leg assembly. CONSTITUTION: The support structure 10 to support surgical instrument is clamped by a side rail of an operating table. An arm assembly 26, a leg assembly 28 and base assembly 30 are contained in this support structure 10. A support bracket 32 connectable to either one of the side rail or an end rail 20 of the operating table is contained in the base assembly 30. A holding part 40 is contained in the arm assembly 26. The holding part 40 is provided with a removable tip part 42 inserted into a shaft 44. The shaft 44 is rotatably held by a joint ring 50 inserted into a holding member in which a tail end groove of an arm part 54 is arranged. The bottom part of the arm assembly 26 is connected to the top part of the leg assembly 28.
