PURPOSE:To make it possible to detect fluorescence efficiently without the adverse effect of smiling by using a fluorescence detecting means comprising a refractive-index distribution type lens array filter and a charge-coupled-device line sensor. CONSTITUTION:When laser light 90 is cast on a DNA cut piece 76, which is migrated along each migrating path 88 of a gel electrolyte layer 86 of a migrating plate 74 in the lateral direction, fluorescence is emitted. The fluorescence is cast into a refractive-index-distribution type lens array 3. The passed light is cast into a filter 5. The stray light, background light or the like having the wavelength other than the fluorescence component is cut. Thereafter, the fluorescence, which has passed through the filter 5, is received with a CCD line sensor 7 and converted into the electric signal. Even if the smiling occurs in the sample during the migration, the fluorescence can be effectively detected by the use of this fluorescence detecting means 1. When the refractive-index- distribution type lenses are alinged in the array state, the neighboring lens images are overlapped, and the errecting-image focusing system is obtained. The interference of the image focusing system between the neighboring migrating paths do not occur. |
