PURPOSE: To obtain a panorama visual field free from the distortion (the distortion in the lateral direction) dependent upon the projection direction by projecting a projection object again on the projection face consisting of a plane by panorama conversion after or at the time of projection on the projection face consisting of the plane. CONSTITUTION: The projection object is projected on the projection face consisting of the plane (a primary projection plane, namely, the projection plane of the conventional method and the projection plane before correction of the distortion due to panorama conversion) by the general center projection method. After or at the time of this projection, it is projected again on the projection plane (a secondary projection plane, namely, the projection plane after correction of the distortion due to panorama conversion) by panorama conversion to obtain a projection image of the projection object. That is, projection on a semicylindrical face 3 is included in one process of the projection method, and a photographic object 5 is projected on the projection semicylindrical face 3 by light 7a from a light source 7, and this projection image is expanded on a projection plane 4 and is projected again. Thus, the distortion (the distortion in the lateral direction) of the projection image dependent upon the projection direction is corrected. |
