摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a velocity meter which reduces a drift due to temperature variation by winding an FSL(fiber sensing loop) around a bobbin so that both end parts of a two-core optical fiber tape core are at the same position, and connecting mutually different two-core optical fibers at both end parts, core by core. CONSTITUTION:The connection part of optical fibers 3 and 4 at both end parts 21 and 22 of the optical fiber tape core conductor 2 is in the lengthwise center of the optical fiber of the FSL, and the fibers 3 and 4 at an equal distance from the center pass invariably equal positions of the bobbin 1. Then the fibers 3 and 4 never cross each other on the surface of the bobbin 1. Light from a light source is therefore branched by an optical system for branching and coupling and then propagated in the FSL in the mutually opposite directions, and they are coupled mutually by the optical system for branching and coupling and incident on a photodetector. At this time, when the FSL rotates, the propagated light beams which travels in the FSL in the mutually opposite directions have a phase difference, from which the angular velocity of the FSL is found.
