PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic display device in which a display frequency and its resolution are not decreased without increasing number of image generators in comparison with a nonstereoscopic display device. SOLUTION: A sequence of three-dimensional image is displayed based on a 1st source image sequence corresponding to a left eye of a viewer and a 2nd source image sequence corresponding to a right eye of the viewer and the source images are sent in a form of video signals S1 , S2 with luminous intensity of E1 , E2 respectively. The device includes a 1st calculation means 6 to generate a video signal S with a total luminous intensity E calculated as a function of the video signals S1 , S2 and the luminous intensity E1 , E2 and the 1st calculation means 6 is in cooperation with a 2nd calculation means 8 so that the entire luminous intensity E of respective picture elements is divided in proportion to the luminous intensity E1 , E2 . |
