SPINE DISTRACTION IMPLANT

A spine distraction implant (1000) alleviates pain associated with spinal stenosis, facet arthropathy by expanding the volume in the spine canal, and/or neural foramen. The implant provides a spinal extension stop (1016) while allowing freedom of spinal flexion. The implant may comprise a first unit including a central body (1002) and a first wing (1004) at a first end thereof, a sleeve (1016) provided over said central body and deflectable towards it, a second wing (1032), and a device to secure the second wing to a second end of the central body with the sleeve between the wings. Said device may allow the second wing to be secured in several configurations, such that a spacing between the wings can be varied to accommodate spinous processes of different sizes.
