A TDI-type matrix camera synchronised with the moving object is used to register a laser beam shone onto the object. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Measurements are taken for quality control purposes, using a laser to illuminate the object (13`) and a camera (12) with a light-sensitive part for registering the illuminated region. The camera is connected to a processor (14) which displays the measured data. A monochromatic linear laser is used to a shine a beam (13) of high intensity monochromatic light onto the object at right angles to the direction in which it is being moved. A time delay and integration (TDI) type matrix camera is used, its light-sensitive region formed by an image matrix (16) of rows or arrays of pixels. The camera exposure is synchronised with the movement of the object. A row of pixels is shifted in turns, the new image being added to the earlier ones recorded by the camera, so that the final row is the sum of the number of exposures made. This cumulative addition is carried out by the processor. Synchronisation of the camera is carried out by supplying it with information regarding the movement of the object. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for the apparatus used for taking these measurements, which includes a synchronising tool (17) supplying information on the movement of the object to the camera.
|
