PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an illegal printer from pretending as a legal printer and to print out data only from a safe printer. SOLUTION: The printing system constituted of a document server, a printer and a user client which are connected through a network stores a disclosed key certificate and a secret key corresponding to the certificate and executes printer certification on the basis of the certification in accordance with a request from the document server or the user client.
