A new olefinic resin having an excellent compatibility with other resins while keeping its low melting point and low viscosity; and an electrophotographic toner which is capable of fixing at low temperature without impairing the storability, does not cause problems of, for example, offset, has an excellent fixing strength on a transfer paper, and is prepared by using the above resin as a binder resin therefor. This resin is a copolymer of an alpha -olefin with at least one component selected from the group consisting of maleic anhydride and maleic esters and is characterized in that at least one of the components is cross-linked. |
