<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catheter for an interatrial septum divulsion operation which can divulse an interatrial septum assuredly, have no trouble such as the shortage of a balloon expansion diameter, the descent of balloon intensity (strain or burst by haul) and so on, and can be used for a narrower sheath in this invention. <P>SOLUTION: A balloon catheter is equipped with a balloon 1 which can inflate or deflate and a shaft 2 that the balloon 1 is attached on an apical part.
