<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a natural educational place in a school for schoolchildren attending the school on the rooftop of an existing school building such as a schoolhouse of an elementary school without reducing aseismatic performance of an existing building. <P>SOLUTION: A new foundation for the extension is arranged around an existing foundation for supporting the existing school building. A support member reaching up to an upper part of the existing building is erected in an upper part of the new foundation. A new rooftop surface is formed above the building by arranging a roof member in an upper part of the support member.
