A drum type washing machine is provided to enlarge volume of an internal part of a drum and to reduce number of components by supporting the drum only from a rear part not from both ends, thereby capable of improving productivity. A drum type washing machine comprises a cabinet, a tub(120), a drum(130), a driving unit, a bearing housing(128), and a suspension assembly. The cabinet forms an exterior appearance. The tub is fixed at the cabinet. The drum is rotatably installed in the tub. The driving unit is connected at one part of the drum by a rotary shaft. The driving unit generates driving force to rotate the drum. The bearing housing supports the rotary shaft of the driving unit. The suspension assembly is installed at a lower part of the bearing housing and supporting load of the drum for damping vibration of the drum. The suspension assembly is composed of at least one damper bracket, and damping units(180,190a, 190b). The damper bracket is installed at a lower part of the bearing housing. The damping units have at least one damper and is connected with the damper bracket and supporting the bearing housing. |
