An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to enable a user to freely control an on/off time of a lamp at the outside by generating a lamp control signal corresponding to data if the user inputs the data for determining the on/off of the lamp at the outside, thereby providing optimized luminance. At least one or more lamps irradiates predetermined light to each region after dividing an LC(Liquid Crystal) panel into certain regions. A counter(116) sequentially counts horizontal synchronizing signals. A memory(118) stores an on/off time of each lamp. A lamp driving unit(114) turns on the lamp if one time data of a lamp stored in the memory is consistent with a counted value of the counter, and turns off the lamp if off time data of the lamp stored in the memory is consistent with the counted value of the counter. |
