The controller (2) has a failure recording circuit (26) coupled with a masking circuit (24) that masks parts of data and transmits non-masked part of data to the recording circuit, where the recording circuit computes an error result. An analysis comparison circuit receives the result and receives another error result of a memory circuit (3) i.e. dynamic RAM, to analyze the two results for producing correlation information. A control circuit (31) controls time position of the data output over a data interface with respect to a reference time based on the information. An independent claim is also included for a method for adjusting phase difference between signals.
