Disclosed are: a substituted pyridinecarboxanilide derivative represented by the general formula (I) or a salt thereof; an agricultural or horticultural agent comprising the compound as an active ingredient; and use of the agent. It becomes possible to provide a novel agricultural or horticultural agent, particularly a pesticidal agent or a miticidal agent. (I) wherein R<SUB>1</SUB> represents H, an alkyl, an alkylcarbonyl, a cycloalkyl, a phenylalkyl, a phenylcarbonyl, a cyanoalkyl, or the like; R<SUP>2</SUP> represents H, a halogen, an alkyl, CN, OH, an alkoxy, a phenoxy, a phenylthio, a phenylsulfonyl, or the like; G represents an alkyl, an alkenyl, an alkynyl, a cycloalkyl, a cycloalkenyl, or the like; Z represents O or S; X represents a halogen, CN, NO<SUB>2</SUB>, an alkyl, or the like; Y represents a halogen, CN, NO<SUB>2</SUB>, OH, a mercapto, an amino, a carboxyl, an alkyl, a phenyl, a phenoxy, a heterocyclic group, or the like; m represents a number of 0 to 4; and n represents a number of 0 to 3.
