An audio system for transmitting audio signals through a power line, the audio system comprising a display unit; a transmitter module coupled to the power line; and a primary controller coupled to the transmitter module, where the primary controller interrogates the transmitter module to determine a transmission status of the transmitted audio signals and wherein the display unit displays the instantaneous transmission status of the transmitted audio signals for view by a user.
