Disclosed is a monitor device for an injection molding machine, which determines the rate of heat transfer at a predetermined position of a heating cylinder (11) from the outer wall vicinity toward the inner wall vicinity of the heating cylinder (11). The monitor device releases a cold start preventing function, when the heat transfer rate from the outer wall vicinity toward the inner wall vicinity of the heating cylinder (11) becomes a threshold value or lower.
