The invention relates to a process for purifying magnesium minerals, such as natural silicates. According to the invention, the process consists in a thermal pretreatment in microwave field, applied to the coarse serpentinites, after which the serpentinite suspension is subjected to magnetic and gravitational separation in water flow in order to remove the minerals having high iron content, after which the solid fractions are recovered by vacuum treatment and drying at a temperature of 100°C, in air, for 2 h, the final product having a Fe content by 40...60% lower than the initial content, being meant to be used in the ceramics industry. |
