PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and automatically detect whether or not an ADF is properly attached in parallel to and in contact with a platen surface, and easily adjust a height of the ADF with respect to the platen surface.SOLUTION: An inductor 15 arranged at one or a plurality of places of any one of an ADF and a setting reference part is provided at the other. The inductor 15 is provided, for example, at a position that gets close to an inductive area of an inductive proximity sensor 14 on an optical unit 6 when the ADF is closed. It is detected that the ADF is properly attached in parallel to and in contact with an upper surface (platen surface) of an image reading apparatus 1 depending on whether an inductive amount of the inductive proximity sensor 14 is approximately equal to the inductive amount in a state where the ADF is closed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
