PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent switch components from being deformed during a manufacturing process accompanied by application of heat and/or pressure. SOLUTION: In this method, a membrane switch 10 is manufactured which is equipped with a pair of insulation layers 12 and 14 and in which each of the insulation layers 12, 14 has at least one contact area 16, 18 formed in mutually opposite relation to a contact area 16, 18 of the other insulation layer 12, 14. The pair of insulation layers 12 and 14 are juxtaposed such that their contact areas 16, 18 to be in opposite relation. A protection layer 22 is inserted between the insulation layers 12 and 14 at least near the opposite contact areas 16, 18, and the contact areas 16, 18 are maintained in a separated state during a subsequent manufacturing stage accompanied by application of heat and/or pressure. The aforesaid protection layer 22 is removed after the manufacturing stage is completed. |
