The invention also relates to a method comprising the following steps: introducing one or more coins for payment; collecting at least one portion of said coins; and providing change. The method is characterised in that it also comprises the step of automatically recycling a portion of said introduced coins, and the quantity of coins available for providing change is less than a refilling threshold. The efficiency of the system is thereby improved, allowing the value in the collecting means to be very similar to the takings.
