CASEIN HARD-CAPSULE AND PREPARATION THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable application to both medical and food uses and demonstrate a function of conveying a content to a small intestine by employing a calcium content of not more than a specified value in a decalciumed casein obtained by replacing a calcium ion in casein with a hydrogen ion and sodium ion. SOLUTION: Decalcified casein is obtained by preparing an aqueous solution of natural protein casein under an acid condition and replacing a calcium ion in the casein with a hydrogen ion and sodium ion by employing a neutralization method using sodium hydroxide or an adsorption separation method using a chelate resin. The decalcified casein has a calcium content of not more than 1 wt.%. The decalcified casein is dissolved in distilled water or deionized water obtained by ion exchange so as to prepare an aqueous solution and a bar-shaped mold having a capsule form at a tip end is dipped in the solution. The mold is lifted at a constant speed and dried before a capsule is removed from the rod-shaped mold and cut into a desired size so as to form a casein hard-capsule.
