PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vessel sealing device which eliminates necessity for the installing space in the direction over the height, allows easy attachment to the vessel, and can generate a strong sealing force while the structure remains compact. SOLUTION: A vessel sealing device has the first flange 14 to be attached to one vessel and the second flange 15 to be attached to another vessel or a lid, and a taper surface 18 reducing toward the forefront is formed on at least one of the surfaces of the peripheral edges of the flanges, and a U-shaped clamp block 19 is installed as advancing to and retreating from the taper surface 18 horizontally by a block advancing/retreating device 27 and is furnished with clamp surfaces 25 and 26 which work interlocking with the advance of the block 19 and are put in slidable pressure contact with the surface of the peripheral edges of the first and second flanges 14 and 15, and thereby the second flange 15 is strongly clamped to the first flange 14 through the cooperative work of the taper surface 18 and block 19. |
