<p>1303682 Photographic apparatus EASTMAN KODAK CO 26 Feb 1970 [27 Feb 1969] 9247/70 Heading G2A [Also in Division E2] A latching device 51, e.g. for a photographic camera, is formed as a one-piece plastics moulding or of other like mouldable material and has a hook shaped latching lug 55 which cooperates with a fixed hook shaped latching lug 33 on the camera cover 7. As shown, the camera cover is closed, with surfaces 63 of the device 51 in a lowered position so as to permit movement of film driving member 64 to its lowered position in which it engages a film take-up spool. To open the cover, a knob 53 is raised (as seen) thereby raising the device 51 to disengage the lugs 55, 33. Also, an abutment surface 67 of a flexible release member 57 engages surface 37 of the lug 33 to resiliently urge the cover 7 to a partially open position, Fig. 5 (not shown) where it can be easily grasped by an operator. Additionally, the surfaces 63 raise the film drive member 64 to permit loading or unloading of film. When the cover is fully opened, Fig. 6 (not shown), the member 57 is no longer resiliently flexed, but the surface 67 thereof engages a surface 24 of the camera casing to maintain the device 51 in the raised position. As the camera cover is closed, the surface 57 is pushed off the surface 24 by the surface 37 to permit lowering of the device 51.</p> |
