[Also in Division El] Two spaced sheets of glass (11a) 11b are secured together by a sealing strip 12 of a heatcurable material (e.g. neoprene), the wire 12a being used to heat the strip-(a) till it is pliable and may be placed in position on one sheet; (b) to soften it so that it adheres when a second sheet 11b of glass is placed in position; and (c) to cure the bonded joint. The projecting parts of the strip are finally trimmed off. A corner may be cut from the second sheet as shown to clear the projecting portions of the strip. The joint may be carried out in the factory or in situ on singleglazed windows. Cleaning of the glass mating surfaces is essential.
