<p>A tripod leg consists of two telescopic tubes with a plastics sleeve with outer thread (18) mounted at the top end of the outer tube, secured in position by pads which point inward and which pass through holes in the outer tube. The inner faces of the pads are part cylindrical and the inner tube slides on these pads. The opened of the outer tube has an internal chamfer. A sleeve nut (14) fits over the threaded sleeve, which is mounted on the outer tube. The bore of this sleeve nut which fits over the inner tube is chamfered on the inside. A plastics sleeve (26) which has a chamfer on each end is mounted on the inner tube. When the sleeve nut is tightened, the sleeve is clamped between the end of the sleeve nut and the end of the outer tube, and clamps the inner tube in position.</p> |
