<p>System for reproducing information signals such as video signals, so as to obtain an improved signal to noise ratio when the signals are played back from a magnetic recording medium. The video signal contains a balance, modulated luminance signal on a carrier, with the synchronisation signals section having a larger amplitude than the other signal sections. The system contains a magnetic read-out unit for the video signal, a synchronous detector for the balanced, modulated, luminance signal and a circuit for supplying the synchronous detector with a reference carrier signal which is controlled in phase by a signal with a suppressed carrier, during the period of the synchronisation signal of the modulated luminance signal.</p> |
