The conveyor equipment has a suction device positioned below the conveying plane. The sheet ends are brought within an effective range of the suction braking devices by a diverting mounted above the conveyor plane. The diverting device consists of a suction conveyor roller (7, 8, 9) fitted with projections (16) spaced along its circumference. The speed of rotation of the projections (16) is synchronised with the sheet ends in such a way that the sheet ends are brought into contact with the projections (16). The suction conveying roller (7, 8, 9) is perforated along its surface outside the projections (16) and the suction braking device consists of a suction table (11 to 15) which projects in the direction of conveying behind the diverting device.
